UgpQ accumulates under conditions of phosphate starvation, suggesting that it allows the utilization of glycerophosphodiesters as a source of phosphate. These results clarify how E. coli utilizes glycerophosphodiesters using two homologous enzymes, UgpQ and GlpQ."xsd:string
