http://purl.uniprot.org/proteomes/UP000002363http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#comment"Enterobacter species are found in natural environments such as water, sewage, soil, and vegetables; some species are found in human and animal species. Enterobacter cloacae is a prevalent nosocomial pathogen as it is highly resistant to disinfectants and antimicrobial agents. E.cloacae subsp. cloacae strain ATCC 13047 was isolated from human cerebrospinal fluid in 1890 and is the type strain. The genome carries many genes important for virulence, including 7 loci for fimbrial biosynthesis, 37 multidrug efflux proteins, 7 antimicrobial peptide resistance proteins and 11 beta-lactamases which probably all contribute to antibiotic resistance, as well as 7 operons involved in toxic heavy-metal resistance, which may allow it to survive in environments such as sewage (adapted from PMID 20207761)."xsd:string
