http://purl.uniprot.org/proteomes/UP000008319http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#comment"The gram-negative enteric bacterium Proteus mirabilis, a human commensal bacterium, is a frequent cause of urinary tract infections in individuals with long-term indwelling catheters or with complicated urinary tracts (e.g., due to spinal cord injury or anatomic abnormality). Infection may lead to acute pyelonephritis, fever, bacteremia, the formation of kidney and bladder stones or the encrustation or obstruction of indwelling urinary catheters. It is highly motile and differentiates from short vegetative swimmer cells to an elongated, highly flagellated swarmer form. It has strong adherence abilities, which enable it to infect the bladder, kidney and even penetrate into the bloodstream. "xsd:string
http://purl.uniprot.org/proteomes/UP000008319http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#comment"Strain HI4320 was isolated from the urine of a nursing home patient with a long-term (>30 days) indwelling urinary catheter. It is not only able to degrade urine but analysis of the genome suggests it may also be able to synthesize it. The genome encodes 17 types of fimbriae, more than in any other bacterium sequenced to date, highlighting the importance of adherence to this organism. This strain is considered a low-passage clinical isolate (adapted from PubMed 18375554)."xsd:string
