http://purl.uniprot.org/proteomes/UP000008385http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#comment"Ramlibacter tataouinensis is an aerobic, chemo-organotrophic, cyst-producing soil bacterial strain isolated from subdesert soil in Tataouine, Tunisia. It has quite different growth forms at different growth stages. Vegetative cells are motile rods of 0.2 um diameter, which are formed from dividing cyst-like coccoid cells (0.8 - 0.9 um in diameter). The cysts are encased by a thick capsular material, have white spherical granules in the cytoplasm and show long-term resistance to desiccation. The membrane area of the rods and cysts is the same, however the formation of rods from cysts involves loss of two-thirds of the cell volume. Cells are motile probably by a gliding mechanism as they have no visible flagella. Spherical granules composed of polyhydroxyalkanoate are present in cytoplasm of both rods and cysts. Strain TTB310 is able to use only acetate, pyruvate, beta-hydroxybutyrate, gamma-hydroxybutyrate, DL-lactate or propionate of tested carbon sources. It is able to reduce nitrate to nitrite and has beta-glucosidase activity (adapted from PMIDs 12710631 and 16112847)."xsd:string
